Valentine's Day isn't just for couples anymore, grab your besties and celebrate them with these Galentine's Day ideas. Galentine's Day is a day devoted to the incredible bond you share with your gal pals.
But why, you ask? Well, we can thank Leslie Knope, the queen of all things wonderful and Parks and Recreation, for this epic tradition. In a memorable episode, Leslie declares February 13th “the best day of the year: ladies celebrating ladies!” And just like that, a movement was born.
Yes, officially this day is celebrated the day before Valentine's Day. Which is great for those of us who also want to celebrate Valentine's Day too. Of course, you can always choose to hold a Galentine's party on the 14th if you and your gal pals want to!
A Galentine's party is so much fun – think of a regular party that is considered fun (Murder Mystery nights, Karaoke etc) and then add your Galentine's Day twist to it. This could be something such as a colour palette, fancy love-themed food, Disney elements, or dressing up (wearing a specific colour or characters from a TV show). The more ridiculousness, fun and drama you can add, the better!
