High School Graduation is a big deal. It means the graduate is moving on up and will soon be leaving home, many heading to college to figure out how to live on their own. I can only imagine the bittersweet feelings that go along with this exciting event. It’s a busy and exciting time and deserves to be celebrated in style to make lasting memories.

Don’t let all the details of hosting a high school graduation party at home overwhelm you. There are easy ways to go about planning a graduation party to help things run smoothly so you can enjoy the day as well and celebrate your graduate.

Easy Graduation Party Ideas

I am all about keeping things simple. And there is no reason a graduation party can’t be simple. From how much and what food to buy and serve to how to decorate, I’ve got some simple tips to help you pull off an amazing high school graduation party at home.

Why Host a Graduation Party at Home

One of the easiest graduation party ideas is to host a graduation party in your own home. You can keep the graduation party costs down, by not having to rent a venue. Inviting guests is easier since you can invite as many people as you want, or as many as your house can hold.

Graduation night is a busy night for a lot of families. Having the ability to come and go and just drop in to a graduation party is a major plus. Hosting a graduation party at home allows for ease and flexibility to adapt to any unexpected events the evening can bring.

You’ll have home field advantage when you host a party at home. Anything you might need during the evening you probably already have on hand or know exactly where to find it. Allowing attendees and the guest of honor to enjoy the party and have a good time.

Plus, you can’t beat the general feeling and ambiance of a house party. Having all the people your graduate loves and cares about in their home will make the evening extra special. Set the tone of your graduation party as welcoming, comfortable and fun. That is a lot easier to do when you host the graduation party in your own home.

How Much Food Should I Buy For a Graduation Party

How much food to buy for a party is always the tricky part of planning. You send out the invitations, but never know exactly who will show up. Here are my simple tips when it comes to buying food for any party. Buy food that can be kept frozen and used for another purpose later, if you have leftovers. And make it bite sized. Everyone can try a little of everything, food will stretch, and they will get plenty.

Using frozen snacks and appetizers from the Farm Rich line of frozen products can make food party prep so easy. All of their snacks are easy to prepare (some can be microwaved) and are made from wholesome, good quality ingredients. Fill your freezer with the graduate’s favorites. Farm Rich has an assortment of frozen snacks and appetizers like Meatballs, Mozzarella Sticks, Loaded Potato Skins, Jalapeño Peppers and more. These Farm Rich products can be found at Walmart, Kroger and other retailers.

What makes going the frozen food route the right way is that you can heat up just a few boxes of the Farm Rich snacks and appetizers to get the party started. As the party goes on and you need more food, grab another box from the freezer and within just a few minutes, your platters are full once more. And if you end up not using all the products you purchased for the party, they keep in the freezer for an after school snack, quick weeknight dinner or next family gathering. Nothing will go to waste.

The best part about using Farm Rich apps and snacks is, they can be served as is, heated up straight from the box and will be delicious. Or they can be used as a main ingredient to make something a little more substantial like these Meatball Pizza Sliders and Pizza Bites, which are made for hungry teens.

How To Decorate For a Graduation Party

One of my favorite things to use when it comes to easy party decorations, are printables. Party printables are my secret weapon when it comes to decorating for a party.

I created a suite of Free Graduation Party Printables just for the purpose and ease of decorating. This suite has everything you need to create a gorgeous food table spread. Plus it can be printed and made at home. It will be the cost of cardstock and use of your printer. You could send these to your favorite local printer if you wanted a little nicer quality. But really, that isn’t necessary and will look just as good.

The free graduation party printables come with a party banner, water bottle labels, menu cards, cupcake toppers and food tags. I kept the pallet neutral to fit any theme. School colors can always be added with balloons or fancy colored toothpicks in the food. Once they are printed out, just cut them out and string the banner together, add labels to water bottles, create the toppers and tags, etc. This can be done a week before the party happens so you are ready to get the decorations up before the big day.

Set up your food table the night before with the serving ware you will be using. This will help give you an idea of how much space you’ll need on your table and where everything will go when the party starts.

You can download the Free Graduation Party Printables using the links below. These printables are for personal use only. The graduation party printables are generic, no dates. You can choose to add printables with the graduation year with the add on printables.
