Dr. Randy Trowbridge
Dr. Randolph Trowbridge attended Columbia University as an undergraduate wherehe received a B.A. in Religion. He furthered his studies at ColumbiaUniversityearning an M.A. in Exercise Physiology.Upon graduation,he gained employment in healthcare-related fields. He later went on to attendNew York Medical College and completed his residency in Physical Medicine andRehabilitation at the Albert Einstein and Montefiore Medical Center more than30 years ago earning his M.D. in Physiatry. Early on, he developed a passionfor preventive and functional medicine and nutrition and has studiedextensively and practiced medicine in these areas for the past 40 years--wellbefore health and wellness was recognized and adopted by the medical communityand healthcare systems.As a former athlete and exercise physiologist, healso specializes in sports medicine. Dr. Trowbridge is board certified inPhysical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Trowbridge began his formal career as a physician as the Associate MedicalDirector in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at DanburyHospital.He was also the Director of the Inpatient Rehab Department andWorkLab, and the Co-Director of the Wound Care Program. In 1986, Dr.Trowbridge founded Team Rehab in Danbury, Connecticut, where he continues towork as the Medical Director. He treats patients with a wide range of pain anddysfunction, primarily related to musculoskeletal and neuromuscularconditions. His focus is to find the generator of the patient's pain, turningit down in intensity or off, and then guiding the patient on how to minimizeor eliminate recurrent episodes
Dr. Trowbridge has been recognized on several occasions as “Best Doctor inConnecticut” in his specialty. Patients remark at the exceptional quality ofcare that Dr. Trowbridge and his associates provide. Dr. Trowbridge shares,“Clearly, the excellent patient outcomes are the direct result of a highlyskilled and dedicated, caring and compassionate TEAM of professionals, ofwhich I am just one part.”
Dr. Trowbridge has been an integral part of community service and advocacy. In1997, he joined the Fairfield County Medical Association(FCMA), theConnecticut State Medical Society(CSMS), and the American MedicalAssociation(AMA). He served as as a member of the FCMA Board if Trustees andits Executive Committee, advancing from Treasurer to Vice President toPresident. At the CSMS, he participated as a council member, and as a memberof the workers compensation, quality of care, and public health committees. Heserved as a member of the Connecticut's State Innovation Model for Healthcarefor 5 years, and is now on the Practice Transformation Task Force forConnecticut's Office of Health Strategy.
In the local community, Dr. Trowbridge organized and spearheaded the effortsthat led to the Danbury Ice Arena and later served on the Pomperaug DistrictPublic Health Board of Directors. Currently, he serves at the Americares freemedical clinics and as a member of Christian Community Outreach Ministries.
Dr. Dennis Ogiela
Dennis Ogiela, M.D. joined Team Rehab after more than twenty years in thepractice of orthopedic surgery. Joining our staff in January of 2005, Dr.Ogiela provides individualized and comprehensive non-surgical treatment ofmusculo-skeletal disorders. Dr. Ogiela states, “Our practice focuses onstate-of-the-art conservative treatment methods and will provide the highestquality of musculo-skeletal care through a combined orthopedic/physiatricapproach.” Dr. Ogiela is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with Fellowshiptraining in spinal disorders and certification in medical acupuncture. Dr.Ogiela received his M.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo. He isboard certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the AmericanBoard of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
Jill Maloney, P.T.
Jill has extensive experience as a clinician and instructor in the field ofphysical therapy. She co-authored a chapter for a book entitled ClinicalMastery in the Treatment of Myofascial Pain. For more than thirty years shehas provided physical therapy for a broad range of conditions both orthopedicand neurological. She has distinguished herself in the treatment of chronicpain, especially head, neck, and facial pain as well as SI dysfunction.Patients and referring physicians alike have consistently acknowledged herexceptional results, which are clearly the result of uncommon skill,passionate dedication, and focused care. Additionally, Jill has participatedas a guest faculty member for the “Travell Spray and Stretch Approach toMyofascial Pain and Trigger Point Dysfunction”. She received her PhysicalTherapy degree from the University of Vermont in 1985.
Stephen Merkle, M.S., P.T., O.C.S.
With overtwenty-five years devoted to physical therapy care, Stephen hasestablished himself as one of the most accomplished therapists in the area. Hehas the rare distinction among local physical therapists as having earnedNational Board Certification as an Orthopedic Specialist. His humble yetenthusiastic approach to care and treatment is energizing to his patients. Hecombines this with advanced knowledge and techniques in the area of orthopedicphysical therapy, and through individualized manual care and exerciseprograms. Stephen achieves superior outcomes and patient satisfaction.Although demonstrating “all-star performance” in managing all kinds ofconditions, he earns superior grades with sports injuries and joint problems,especially with shoulders and knees. Stephen received his B.S. in physicaltherapy from S.U.N.Y. Health Sciences Center in Syracuse and his M.S. inOrthopedic Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac College.
Alyson Jamel Rosalita, D.P.T.
Alyson Jamel Rosalita joined Team Rehab in 2018. She earned a doctorate inphysical thearpy in 2015 and specializes in working with patients withorthopedic issues, sports injuries, and neurological conditions. She has apassion for treating athletes as she was an avid soccer player in high schooland college, and a member of the track team in high school. Her patients loveher energetic and positive personality and her ability to motivate herpatients to reach their maximum potential.
Hwajeong Lee, D.P.T., C.I.D.N.
As a physical therapist for nearly 15 years in South Korea, Hwajeong Leetreated patients recovering from spinal, pelvic, and joint surgery bydeveloping individualized exercise prescriptions and muscle training.She is fluent in Korean. She alsotreated sports injuries and acute pain disease, managed gait disorders, andtreated pain-related geriatric disorders. For the past six years, shepracticed in New York and Connecticut as a physical therapist and exercisephysiologist. She is also certified in dry needling. Currently, Hwajeong worksfor Nuvance Health and mainly cares for geriatric patients as well aspost-surgical home care. Also on the staff at Team Rehab, Hwajeong brings hermany talents and broad range of experiences to help our patients in theirrecovery from pain and dysfunction. She has a special gift in motivating andsupporting our patients in their personal journey from rehabilitation torecovery.
Wendy Merrick, P.T.
Wendy has been a team member of Team Rehab professional staff since 1994. Shespecializes in the treatment of myofascialpain syndrome and has strongmanual skills and extensive training in aquatic therapy used to restorefunction in clients with diagnoses treated with physical therapy. Wendy isalso skilled in muscle energy techniques. Wendy's blend of extensive trainingand practice in physical therapy combined with her natural gift in providingkind and compassionate care makes it easy to understand how patients andreferring physicians seek her out as a therapist of choice.
Nicholas Bonoff, D.P.T.
Nick has worked in multiple outpatient settings where he has treated patientsranging from elementary school aged children through geriatrics. Nick's strongbackground in exercise and sports strength and conditioning, nutrition,balance, posture, and gait training allow him to meet the needs of a widerange of ages and conditions.
Nick's patients love his natural ability to motivate them to reach theirgoals. Nick listens to his patients and individualizes their programs toimprove their function to the maximum potential. Nick blends his intuitiveskills in meeting patients needs with genuine compassion and qualitycare.
Outside of the clinic, Nick is an avid obstacle course racer, and enjoys theoutdoors.
