Tokyo Revengers: What Is the S-62 Generation & Who Are Its Members? (2024)

And while it is certainly not the best arc in the series, Tokyo Revengers‘ Tenjiku Arc is certainly one of the most interesting ones, as it introduced us to some great characters, revealed some exciting and shocking info, and gave us some great battles. The infamous S-62 Generation is also part of this arc, and with the S-62 being so important, we have decided to tell you a bit about them. In this article, you will find out what the S-62 Generation is and who the members of this group are, as well as why the group is so important for the plot of Tokyo Revengers.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • The S-62 Generation, also known as the Vicious Generation, is a group of delinquents led by Izana Kurokawa. They are an exclusive group established in 2001 when the six members were together in a juvenile detention center.
  • Izana was the leader of the group, and the six of them banded together to commit violent and heinous crimes, which included robbery, assault, and drug trafficking. The group later became former Tenjiku.
  • The S-62 Generation, along with some supporters, formed the core of Tenjiku, and its members were the principal antagonists in the Tenjiku Arc of Tokyo Revengers.

The S-62 Generation is the core of Tenjiku, and they were formidable villains during the Tenjiku Arc

The story of the S-62 Generation dates back to 2001, when this small yet exclusive group was formed. The group was mentioned during the Tenjiku Arc, explaining who they were and why they were so important for the series. This is their story.

The story takes us back to 2001, to a juvenile detention center in Japan. There, a young boy named Izana Kurokawa, a boy living in the center decided to form an elite group of very strong fighters, a gang of sorts, which is in line with the overall theme of Tokyo Revengers. Alongside him, there were five other boys: Yasuhiro Muto,Kanji Mochizuki,RanandRindo Haitani, andShion Madarame. These six boys from the center formed the S-62 Generation, which would become a very formidable antagonist in the series, and we are now going to explain how and why.

So, what connected all of these boys? Well, they were all born in 1987 or 1988 and were in the juvenile detention center simultaneously. They were also quite strong, so they became exceptionally dangerous when they decided to band together. They decided to become criminals, and during their criminal career, they committed various dangerous and heinous crimes, including but not limited to robbery, assault, and drug trafficking. They never settled for just petty crimes.

Alongside this, the individual members formed groups of their own so that they could expand their activity and have more men, as well as resources, but all of them worked in the interests of the S-62 Generation; the six core members would later go on to establish the Tenjiku group, which officially made them into a criminal organization in the series. And the rest is history… more or less.

We won’t be spoiling the story of Tenjiku here, as Tenjiku is not – despite all the similarities – not the same as the S-62 Generation, and this article is about the latter, not the former. Let us now talk about the members of the generation.

Known members of the S-62 Generation

In this section, we will present the members of the S-62 Generation, individually or by grouping them based on their role in the hierarchy.

Izana Kurokawa (leader)

Izana Kurokawa was the leader of the 8th generation of the Black Dragon and president of Tenjiku. He was Mikey, Emma, and Sinichiro’s adoptive brother. Being controlled by his subordinates, he established Tenjiku and exercised strict leadership over it. He finally accepts that he is not alone because of Kakucho and accepts his defeat in the last moments of his life.

Yasuhiro Muto

Yasuhiro Muto, also known as Mucho, was the former captain of the fifth division of Toman and a founder of Tenjiku. He also held executive positions there. Since Mucho was born in 1987, he is considered a member of the S-62 Generation. Mucho soon joined Tokyo Manji and rose to the position of fifth division captain. However, he never showed loyalty to them and would later turn on them, demonstrating his constant loyalty to his initial gang. He had to wait for it to be restored before returning to them.

Kanji Mochizuki

Kanji Mochizuki, also known as Mocchi, is a former leader of Jugem, a member of the S-62 Generation, and one of the four heavenly kings of Tenjiku. His past is largely unknown, except that he was once the boss of a gang known as Jugem. After punching a police officer, he is later transferred to a juvenile detention facility, where he meets the other members of the S-62 Generation.

Ran and Rindo Haitani

Ran Haitani and Rindo Haitani were former members of Tenjiku. In the future, both will be Bonten executives. They both belonged to notorious Roppongi gangs. Ran easily defeated the leader while they were only 13 years old, and he then went after Rindo’s rival, the vice leader. The vice leader was rushed to the hospital with significant injuries, but sadly, he did not make it.

Following that, the Haitani brothers controlled the entire Roppongi district, even in the absence of a gang. Because of the crime they committed, they were eventually placed in juvenile jail, where they were reunited with the other members of the S-62 Generation.

Shion Madarame

Shion Madarame is the former leader of the 9th generation of the Black Dragon and a former member of the S-62 Generation. Shion was sent to a prison facility at the age of thirteen, where he was introduced to the other S-62 Generation members. He was the main reason Mikey’s buddies decided they needed to join the Toman in order to defend themselves. Shion and the Black Dragon ultimately lost.
